- ‘Blossomtime’ was hybridized from the climbing rose, ‘New Dawn’ and an un-named hybrid tea seedling. ‘New Dawn’ was the first patented plant (patent pp1) in 1930. New Dawn was one of the original roses planted in the Laura Conyers Smith Rose Garden based on a 1932 hand-drawn map. As of 2021, there are currently ten ‘New Dawn’ climbers growing in the garden.
